Local Government options

The Far North and Whāngārei District Councils have been promoting a proposal for two Northland unitary authorities. The Northland Regional Council believes we should always be striving to improve local government service delivery but this does not require a costly reorganisation.  We have provided the following information to help you make an informed decision.

Official Information Request

Northland Regional Council requested the three District Council’s provide a range of information regarding the McKinlay Douglas report including all correspondence in relation to this project and all copies of the various draft reports. The Official Information Request response was presented to Council as a Supplementary Agenda on 21 April 2010.
