Northland Regional Council's Long Term Plan 2018-2028 was adopted at a council meeting on 21 June 2018. This plan sets council's strategic direction, programmes of work, and funding for the next ten years and beyond, and comes in to effect on 1 July 2018.
The plan includes significant new funding to do more to clean up waters, to manage pests, to provide better flood infrastructure for vulnerable communities, and steps up work in a number of other areas of council activity.
Council made decisions on the contents of the plan, in consideration of public feedback received, at a deliberations meeting that was held on 16 May. The decisions made at this meeting shaped the final plan that was adopted by council. Council was very appreciative of the level of community interest in the Long Term Plan, and extends their thanks to those who took the time to get involved.
