Steer clear of the wave buoys

All vessels are required to stay at least 100 metres clear of the wave rider buoys.

Vessels in  the Whangārei approaches should not enter or leave the channel between Fairway Buoy and  No. 1 Buoy.

Please do not approach or fish near the buoys as they are mounted with numerous delicate instruments that can be easily damaged.
