This report summarises and reviews the Lake Ōmāpere Restoration and Management Project. The report covers project objectives, what approach was taken, what was achieved and what it cost. The report briefly looks at what has been done since the project ended.
Detailed information on the current state of the lake and trends over time are presented including water quality, ecological condition and biodiversity.
Using available data and information this report looks at whether the project was successful in terms of:
- the project outcomes
- restoring Lake Ōmāpere, including changes in water quality and ecological condition
- assisting the trustees in establishing their role as kaitakitanga.
Finally, there is some brief discussion of the findings, including some lessons learnt and recommendations for future monitoring and management.
