Climate
They call us the ‘Winterless North’ for a reason. Here spring starts a little earlier and summer lasts longer with warm temperatures ranging from 22° to 30°. Our winters are mild, with our coldest months averaging 16° so outdoor activities can be done almost all year around.
Location
Te Taitokerau (Northland) is the northern-most region of New Zealand. With around 3200km of coastline in the region, you are never far from the sea.
Northland Regional Council’s main office is in Whangārei, with smaller offices located in Dargaville, Waipapa and Kaitaia and an operational base in Ōpua.
Whangārei is just two hours’ drive from Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city.
