Sponsorship requests
At Northland Regional Council, we receive many requests for support each year. It’s important that any sponsorships we accept align with our outcomes and are a justified use of ratepayer funds.
We carefully review each proposal, taking into consideration the suitability, alignment with our sponsorship criteria and available budget.
The following information will help you with your application.
- Core Business: your event or project should be linked to our core business – who we are, what we do. Check out this info about what we do.
- Sponsorship Criteria: we’ll only approve projects that align with our Long Term Plan strategic priorities.
Sponsorship guidelines: please read our sponsorship guidelines (PDF 1.44 MB) before submitting your proposal to see whether your opportunity meets our criteria. Please note, we will NOT consider proposals in the following categories:
- Local sports organisations;
- Charitable fundraisers;
- Requests that benefit an individual person or family;
- Events in areas outside our region;
- Religious activities;
- Class or individual field trips;
- Political candidates or organisations.
We require as much advanced notice as possible, ideally at least three months prior to the start of your event or project. Sponsorships requests could take up to four weeks to process.
